The game has been in early access on Steam since August 13, 2023, and can be purchased there for €4.99. There is also a roadmap where the developers announce more content. However, An Ankou can already convince the YouTuber HandOfBlood and his viewers.

Viewers are “hooked after 45 seconds”
How does HandOfBlood fare with the game? The YouTuber released an hour-long video on his channel HandOfUncut on September 13, 2023, where he makes his first steps in An Ankou. From the start, the genre mix and atmosphere seem to appeal to him.

The first run, still a bit chaotic, ends after about 8 minutes, but HandOfBlood is hooked: “We’re going back in, this is quite cool already.”
The next attempt goes somewhat more systematically. However, the YouTuber struggles with the first boss. The solution can be found in the comments: He was likely equipped for level 2 and attempted to fight a level 6 enemy, which he thought was level 4. Well, it happens.
Despite everything, HandOfBlood seems to have a lot of fun with the game. In summary, he praises: “Finally a new approach to the genre.”

Several viewers also wish for more videos about the survival-like. It’s a game that really gets you excited, as one writes. Others limit themselves to explaining to HandOfBlood what he did wrong (the boss levels up!), but somehow everyone seems to be entertained in the end.
