The well-known German Twitch streamer Maximilian Knabe, aka HandOfBlood, wanted to “blow the roof off” for the opening of the new Baller League season. The secret star of the European Championship helped him stage a huge show for all viewers.
Anyone who was able to follow one of the numerous livestreams on the first match day of the Baller League witnessed an impressive show.
In his role as president, Knabe opened the new season with plenty of spectacle. The streamer, known as Hänno by his fans, had a trendy Mallorca band and the musical newcomer of the EM in tow.
At first, party singer “Malleanja” got the Eintracht fans warmed up during the official public viewing. But the big surprise of the evening came just before the first match of the season when Hänno ran onto the field with the team and fans accompanied by a very special musical performance.
EM star plays the anthem, then gets the president dancing
Which EM star did HandOfBlood have with him? For the first appearance of the new season, Hänno organized none other than Andre Schnura, who became a meme on the internet in Germany during the EM with his saxophone. The saxophonist got thousands of people into the mood for the games during the European Championship with famous songs from the fan scene.
How did the show proceed? Schnura walked onto the pitch at the beginning in front of the president and the rest of the Eintracht followers and played the Spandau anthem. Behind him, President Knabe led his team and the traveling fans onto the field with a serious and solemn demeanor.
Once the saxophonist and his entourage reached the center of the pitch, the Spandau performance properly began, as you can see in the following clip:
After the quiet anthem had faded, Schnura warmed up the Eintracht fans and all the spectators present in Cologne with typical football fan songs. In the video, you can hear, for example, the popular “Freed From Desire” by the band “Gala”, which was once reworked by the Scottish fans to “Will Grigg’s on Fire” (in reference to the Scottish national player Will Grigg).
By this time, the Eintracht, their players, and traveling fans were visibly “on fire”. The pitch quickly transformed into a dance floor full of bouncing fans waving flags and scarves.
And how did President Knabe react to the show? Not even HandOfBlood could maintain his professionalism in the serious role of the president. He was tempted to do a little dance and jumped with the other fans to the sounds of the saxophone.
The spectacular performance concluded with another football classic. The summer hit “Samba de Janeiro” was played briefly. Amid the applause of the fans, the show of Eintracht and its EM star Andre Schnura came to an end.
With this, HandOfBlood has already created a first major highlight at the beginning of the new season.
And even in the actual game against Beton Berlin, it initially looked like a solid victory. But Eintracht squandered a 4:0 lead and had to settle for a 4:4 draw against the team of Kontra K and Felix Lobrecht. Last season, Hänno truly flourished as President Knabe: HandOfBlood steps into his best role again and delights fans: “Played so well, it’s almost creepy”
