At the beginning of the week, Maximilian “HandOfBlood” Knabe (31) surprised his fans with the announcement that he would be streaming regularly on Twitch and scaling back video production for YouTube. We will tell you how the content creator is doing after 2 days. Spoiler: quite well.
HandOfBlood is on Twitch? Actually, the content creator is more known for elaborate YouTube videos, in which he takes on the craziest roles. However, in a video from January 16, 2024, HandOfBlood explained that he wants to stream more regularly on Twitch.
He lacks the passion for video production, as it is burdensome and not very rewarding, according to the 31-year-old. He actually just wants to play games. You can find out what will happen with his YouTube channels here:
HandOfBlood is not entirely new on Twitch, but since 2020 he had hardly been on air and preferred to focus on YouTube. The content creator used streams mainly for special occasions, such as his Influencer Darts World Championship. For the 31-year-old and his viewers, streaming is now a change.
HandOfBlood is known for giving his all for his videos:
HandOfBlood Takes Over Twitch
How is HandOfBlood doing on Twitch? HandOfBlood could hardly have wished for a better start on Twitch. The success was already apparent before he even went live: hardly had he announced the switch, when an offline chat had already formed on Twitch, and the first viewers had already subscribed to the channel (via X.com)
When the first “real” stream followed on January 17, 2024, HandOfBlood was initially a bit nervous. However, that did not dampen the mood. The content creator received support from friends like Kalle Koschinsky and Sterzig.
But the experienced entertainer quickly found his groove and entertained the viewers with League of Legends and Dark Souls.
What do the statistics say? In terms of numbers, HandOfBlood also does not have to hide and can already compete with the biggest German streamers: with just two completed streams, the content creator is already in 2nd place on the German Twitch charts for average viewers, closely behind Papaplatte.
Regarding the watched hours, HandOfBlood is currently in 3rd place, behind Papaplatte and EliasN97 – however, with 10 or 13 hours less streaming time than the competition. Thus, HandOfBlood is even ahead of established streaming giants like MontanaBlack (via SullyGnome).

This is how HandOfBlood summarizes his first stream: On X, formerly Twitter, the newly minted streamer appeared overwhelmed and thanked his fans for their support. With a single stream, he was able to reach over 387,000 viewers and gain over 21,800 new followers:
In the last minutes of his first stream, HandOfBlood drew a positive balance: he could not really appreciate everything because it was simply too much. The content creator suspects that it is probably a “difficult transition” for his YouTube viewers.
They now have to get used to the new process and it is always difficult when something changes. The more HandOfBlood appreciates how viewers with a bit more Twitch experience help newcomers and explain functions.
Overall, HandOfBlood’s Twitch debut can be classified as a success.
Whether HandOfBlood can maintain the entry hype and bring his YouTube viewers to Twitch in the long term will now become apparent. It can be assumed that the strong numbers from the beginning will first decline after a while, once the “new factor” is gone. However, fortunately, streaming is not the only leg for the 31-year-old. Because HandOfBlood will become a publisher, wants to release indie games in 2024: “Blizzard can’t give you anything anymore”
