The Twitch streamer HandOfBlood says he resolved the conflict with the streamer Mahluna privately and like an adult at the beginning of 2024, and as a result, he has “almost only disadvantages for his brand.” Therefore, he will handle things differently in the future and go public, otherwise, he leaves the interpretation to others.
This is the situation:
- The YouTuber HandOfBlood switched to Twitch in January 2024 and sought proximity to the streamer MontanaBlack, whom he publicly criticized in 2020 for his sexist “Malta video.”
- The streamer Mahluna publicly criticized HandOfBlood afterwards, calling him a “cult leader,” claiming he excluded her from their mutual circle of friends because of a tweet and is now showing himself with MontanaBlack, who was then seen as a “no-go” figure (via reddit).
- HandOfBlood said these accusations were not true. There were misunderstandings. However, he did not want to comment on social media but resolve it privately. He then did this in a multi-hour conversation with Mahluna and cleared the conflict from the table. Both apologized to each other after the conversation.
Almost only disadvantages received
This is how he sees it now: In hindsight, HandOfBlood says, this behavior has “almost only harmed his brand.”
Because by not saying anything publicly about the incident and resolving the conflict privately, only Mahluna’s narrative became public, which painted him in a bad light (via twitter). In the future, he does not want to let that happen again.
With crossed arms, he explained in a stream:
“A narrative is simply being fabricated for free, and that stops now. I won’t do that again. […] And I am honestly tired of it. I am at a point where I will not allow things to be spread about me and just left like that.”
Silence left his opponents
the field for ugly attacks
What does he mean by that? HandOfBlood refers to the “fabricated narratives” that Reaction streamers and opinion bloggers, with whom he is in conflict, have jumped on since HandOfBlood was publicly criticized by Mahluna.
The fabricated narrative here is: The politically correct HandOfBlood is actually, behind the scenes, morally corrupt and acts like a cult leader who dictates to his people how they should behave and with whom they can collaborate and with whom not.
Especially the gambling streamer Scurrows, who has the fat, fat folders, has heavily attacked HandOfBlood. For him, HandOfBlood’s silence was an admission of guilt that he really behaves like a cult leader and excludes people.
Scurrows elaborated that these “family-friendly” streamers like HandOfBlood, who pose as morally correct, are actually totally corrupt and degenerate – and he saw himself, as a “gambling streamer,” although stigmatized, as completely morally justified:
“These are the people who sit there and constantly point fingers at others: ‘Scurrows is transphobic, he says there are male and female. […] They are all total failures. Human failures.'”
Statement in connection with the Shurjoka issue
Why is HandOfBlood making this a topic now? HandOfBlood clearly states here that he will no longer resolve such conflicts privately but publicly after he was publicly criticized by the Twitch streamer Shurjoka for speaking about their conflict as a “non-affected” person on Twitch and in a SPIEGEL-interview without giving her a heads up or coordinating with her.
HandOfBlood later regarded the statements in the SPIEGEL interview as not good
(via twitter), but he has also noticeably distanced himself from Shurjoka.
HandOfBlood has made it clear that he currently has no contact with the streamer or desires any.
What is behind this: HandOfBlood’s way of resolving the conflict with Mahluna was reasonable and actually exemplary – but as a result, he did give an open flank for his critics who were just waiting to strike.
The fact that the criticism comes specifically from Scurrows is doubly bitter, as Scurrows has demonstrated how to twist public accusations against oneself, so that one comes out much better than the attacker:
