The Twitch streamer Max “HandOfBlood” Knabe has become the publisher of indie games with his company INSTINCT3. And for good reason: In a livestream, he talked about how he now prefers indie games over AAA games.
What kind of game is this? HandOfBlood is not only a YouTuber and Twitch streamer but also a publisher of indie games with his company INSTINCT3. At his own indie expo HandOfBlood presented the upcoming indie games.
Among them is 9 Kings, a roguelike from the developers Sad Sockets. In pixel graphics, you strategically place cards on a game board to defend against attacks from opposing kings in rounds.
In a Twitch stream, HandOfBlood gave another insight into the game while he was dressed up as one of the game’s NPCs.

What is being criticized? A user found in the Twitch chat that 9 Kings looks like a mobile game that could be played on a tablet and that the game would probably get boring quickly on PC.
In response, HandOfBlood said that he would find it funny if “casual gamers” saw a game as “Billo game” when they saw pixel graphics.

I find this so crazy because for me it is like this: I have been playing more and more indie games for five years now and have really gotten into it, and it is amazing how diverse and deep and mechanically demanding, but also partially in terms of story, indie games are much crazier than AAA games. It is simply the future for me. Triple-A is decreasing year by year, with a few exceptions.
