Actually, the shooter Halo Infinite was supposed to be released at the end of 2020 and become one of the launch titles for the new Xbox Series X/S. However, in August, the developers announced a delay. It is now also known how long the release will be delayed.
When will Halo Infinite be released? Joseph Staten, Creative Director at 343, has announced the new release timeframe for Halo Infinite. The game is expected to be released in fall 2021. However, no exact date has been given yet.
This delays the release by nearly a year. Originally, the release was planned to coincide with the Xbox Series X/S on November 10, 2020.
Why is the game being delayed for so long? The developers already indicated in August that multiple factors are responsible for the postponement of the game, including COVID-19 and the changed situation in development.
In a detailed blog post, the Creative Director explains that parts of the technology and graphics have fallen short of their own standards.
In July 2020, the first gameplay of the single player was shown, which, while gameplay-wise convincing, looked technically outdated. According to Staten, work is still ongoing on these aspects.

What else does the Creative Director say? In his contribution to the community, Staten promises that regular updates about the game will follow.
He also emphasizes that very passionate developers are working on Halo Infinite, who primarily want to provide players with a good experience:
We are not making this game for ourselves. We are making it for you. In my first week of work, I played through the entire Infinite campaign. Twice. With one word, I was – in the best way possible – amazed by what the team has created.
Infinite is by far the most expansive and vertically strong Halo world ever. Why did the team do this? Because they understood that wonder and freedom are the keys to the Halo experience.
Is there any news about multiplayer? The developers shared some screenshots of the multiplayer, where the better textures and lighting are noticeable at first glance.
Additionally, it was emphasized again that Halo Infinite is planned as a live game and is to be supported for years. The multiplayer will be free to play, similar to Call of Duty: Warzone, and there will definitely be no loot boxes.
Halo Infinite will be released not only on Xbox Series X/S but also for the older Xbox One and PC.
