Microsoft announced Halo Infinite at the E3 2018. On one hand, they want to return to the roots, but on the other hand, they also want to offer something modern.
Players have been waiting a long time for a new Halo. However, some fans were also disappointed with the last installment, Halo 5: Guardians, which was released in 2015. Microsoft stated at E3 that Halo Infinite will offer more of what fans are looking for.

A modern Halo with classic elements
The Master Chief returns! The Master Chief was not as prominent in the last part of the Halo series as many had hoped. Therefore, Microsoft wants to refocus on the beloved hero in Halo Infinite.
A huge open world. Although no actual gameplay material was shown, only a demo of the Slipspace Engine, fans can expect a gigantic open world where animals also roam.
Release still a long way off. The developers at 343 Industries are aware that they have now raised expectations with the announcement. However, fans will have to wait some time before Halo: Infinite is released. A release date is not yet set, and the team indicates that the game will still be in development for some time.
It is said that the trailer itself is an engine demo, but it is supposed to give a clear indication of the direction the next part of the Halo series will take. Thus, the final game might be different from what one might expect after the trailer.
Online components? Since almost nothing has been revealed about Halo Infinite, it is also unclear what the online features will be. Whether the modes (Team) Deathmatch and Capture the Flag as well as Breakout will be included again, or if we can play cooperatively with friends, is uncertain. Who knows, maybe Halo Infinite will also get a Battle Royale mode…
