Yesterday, on November 15, the multiplayer of Halo Infinite’s was unexpectedly released. Now all PC and Xbox players can try out the multiplayer. Twitch streamer Shroud and YouTube streamer DrDisrespect have already shared their opinions, which are quite different.
Originally, the multiplayer was set to be officially released with the campaign on December 8. Apparently, 343 Industries was confident enough to start almost a month earlier.
Since November 15, the free-to-play multiplayer is available. And many players have already taken advantage of that. While the title launched as the most successful Xbox game on Steam (via. Twitter), shooter experts like Twitch streamer Shroud and YouTube streamer DrDisrespect have also played it.
Different impressions have emerged, especially DrDisrespect surprises with a turnaround.
Shroud is not interested in the multiplayer – “Not fun for me”
This is what Shroud says about Halo Infinite: The excitement of the streamer regarding Halo Infinite’s multiplayer is limited. When asked by a fan, he simply states that he is not having fun with it. (via. Twitch)
“Is Halo Infinite fun for me? Um, not really,” Shroud said. “It’s about what I expected, to be honest. It’s Halo. […] But it’s cool that it’s free,” he added. He had previously expressed that Halo feels outdated and needs modernization.
Instead, Shroud revealed what he is actually looking forward to in Halo Infinite: “I’m more interested in the campaign. I just want to play the campaign and then see if there are any cool custom maps [for the multiplayer] or something like that.”
So he does not have a concluded opinion yet, but there doesn’t seem to be much interest for now. DrDisrespect, on the other hand, sees it differently, even though he was very critical of Halo Infinite beforehand.
DrDisrespect, on the other hand, “won’t stop playing”
This is what DrDisrespect says about Halo Infinite: Unlike Shroud, the streamer seems to be completely thrilled with Halo Infinite’s multiplayer. He states: “A solid handshake on Halo Infinite, the game plays so well, […].” (via Twitter)
He praises the “classic” Halo feel in all multiplayer battles: “I’m sitting here wanting to play again. Every time I finish [a game], I want to go straight back to the lobby to play again,” he continued.
“The ranking grind, the battle rifle, the map designs – I love them all. […] There are a few things I complain about, a few maps that I don’t like that much, but those are really minor complaints. Those are things that can be fixed.”
However, he does have a bigger critique: “When I shoot at someone, we shoot at each other and I don’t feel the effects. You don’t notice it, and suddenly your shields drop to 20% and you’re dead.”
He believes that you should definitely feel it when you have barely any life left. Overall, however, he now has high hopes for Halo Infinite.
This is particularly interesting as DrDisrespect had previously expressed criticism regarding Halo Infinite. He was concerned that the multiplayer would have problems without a battle royale mode. (via charlieintel.com). Fairly, he emphasized the potential of Halo Infinite back then.
What to know about Halo Infinite? Halo Infinite is the successor to Halo 5: Guardians and takes a different approach than previous Halo games. First of all, the campaign and multiplayer were developed separately.
While the multiplayer was released as a free-to-play game, the classic story campaign will only come on December 8 and will be a full-priced game.
