The “Fracture: Tenrai” event is supposed to be the grand kickoff of Season 1 in Halo Infinite. With the announcement of the schedule, however, fans have expressed significant criticism. The reason: You cannot unlock all rewards at once.
What kind of event is this? The Tenrai event offers various rewards that can be unlocked through a special playlist and event challenges.
- There is a special progress tree with 30 levels. This event pass is free.
- The rewards include cosmetic items such as colors, weapon skins, and two special Spartan armors designed in the Japanese samurai style.
- There will be a total of 6 separate event weeks. This week, you have access to a part of the event challenges. If you complete these, you will receive a portion of the event rewards.
- These challenges revolve around the mode Tenrai – Fiesta, which is only available during the respective event weeks.
However, the fact that you only get part of the challenges and only part of the rewards has led to some confusion among players, and some do not take it well. We summarize what exactly is being criticized.
Players are eager for rewards, want to unlock everything without restrictions
What is the reason for the anger? A debate has erupted on Twitter under the event announcement. Some players also feel that developer 343 wants to stretch the content of Season 1 “Heroes of Reach.”
They believe that progress is being time-restricted so that players do not unlock everything after just one or two weeks. This is a “terrible way to run an event.” (via Twitter)
However, some players argue that this is just the way it is in a free-to-play game with a battle pass concept. Many Halo veterans are simply not used to it yet.
What does 343 say about the discussion? The developers have already responded to player feedback. They will listen closely to the feedback and use it to improve such events (via pcgamer.com).
What rewards are there actually? Throughout the event, the following cosmetics can be unlocked:
- Torii Reflection – Epic Backdrop
- Gatekeeper – Legendary Shoulder Pads
- Rare Samurai Nameplate & Emblems
- Sol Devil – Legendary Weapon Coating (MA40 AR)
- Whispered Sky – Epic Weapon Coating (Sidekick and BR75 Battle Rifle)
- Spring Blossom Filter – Legendary Helmet Attachment
- Swordsman’s Belt – Legendary Utility for Yoroi Armor Core
In the first week, emblems and a new armor core will be available at level 5.
Halo Infinite’s multiplayer is well-received by players, but there is also criticism
What was going on with Halo Infinite? The debate occurs during a time when there is already criticism of the progress system in Halo Infinite. While the game and its content are largely well-reviewed by critics, the unlocking of armor and other cosmetic items is not.
The system is perceived by many players as grind-heavy. Unlocking new things would take ages if you did not purchase the premium battle pass. Alleged prices for future shop items also caused significant discussions.
Here too, the developers have already responded and promised to make adjustments and consider fan feedback.
The multiplayer of Halo Infinite has been playable in beta as a free-to-play title since November 15. The campaign will be released as a full-price game on December 8.
