Today, on October 15th, the Halloween event “Fight or Fright” starts in Apex Legends. A new trailer reveals a lot about the return of the old map King’s Canyon, the new limited skins, and possibly the next legend Revenant.
This is in the trailer: The trailer shows Pathfinder taking a “fake portal” and suddenly finding himself in the nighttime nightmare version of King’s Canyon. Here are several changes visible:
- The huge dinosaurs have glowing green eyes and spit green fire
- Candles hang from trees and are scattered around
- Some areas seem to be illuminated in an orange, spooky light
In addition, the map is, as previously announced, night. Everything is shrouded in darkness, and the entire atmosphere is gloomier. King’s Canyon returns in this way after two weeks of only World’s Edge being playable.
These skins are shown: New skins for each legend are showcased in the trailer, which you can see in the title image. Another skin for Wraith is embedded below.
Only Pathfinder apparently gets nothing. However, he claims that he is already wearing his costume – he is Octane’s legs. The skins will be obtainable through special event loot boxes or direct purchases. There will be challenges that also unlock two legendary weapon skins.

When does the event start? The event starts today, on October 15th at around 7 PM. It ends on November 5th.
Is Revenant coming as a new legend?
What we know about Revenant: Revenant was found in the game files by data miner That1MiningGuy some time ago. For the Halloween event, he was supposed to have the codename “Blackout”.
It is suspected that he is the one hosting the game mode Shadowfall of the new event. He is briefly seen in the trailer where he explains to the players how “his world” works.
Is Revenant coming as a new legend? Whether Revenant will come as a legend or just remains the “showmaster” is still unclear. However, That1MiningGuy has often been correct with his leaks so far.
As for his abilities, only speculation exists so far (via Gamestar). However, findings in the files suggest that he might have several abilities:
- Arrows and poison bombs that reveal and slow targets
- “Shadow Walk” that allows Revenant to move faster
- “Shadow Door” creates a door in walls
- “Shadow Step” sends out a shadow, similar to Mirage. Reactivating teleports to the shadow
- “Silence” disables enemy abilities for 10 seconds
- “Death Recall” places a totem that prevents player death
- As a passive ability, Revenant is supposed to run and climb faster while crouching
Since all of this would be quite a few abilities for just one legend, he could either appear as some kind of boss or the abilities belong to several legends. It is also possible that these abilities belong to the zombies in the Shadowfall mode.
When is Revenant coming? It is not clear when Revenant will appear as a legend or if he will even be playable. However, the brief teaser in the trailer at least suggests that he is coming into the game.
However, if he comes into the game with all the skills mentioned above, he is likely to bring some changes and a new meta.
