In the survival MMO H1Z1 players are now faced with a long-announced threat: the Screamer zombie.
As early as the summer of 2015, there were reports of the new zombie type “Screamer” that would soon join the undead hordes in H1Z1. However, the design policy changed and there was little news about the Screamer for a long time. Last month, players were able to catch a glimpse of it. Now the Screamer is officially introduced.
The zombie was modeled after photographs of inmates from an archaic mental institution, who had been placed in a full-body straitjacket.
At H1Z1, there is a joke (or maybe not?) that two interns, who were supposed to research this, ended up twisted and corrupted forever.
The zombie was kept in the jacket, and additionally, the lower jaw was removed. It should be clear: It can’t harm the players directly. It is dangerous due to its bone-chilling screams, which will attract other zombies.
The particularly creepy gait of the new zombie was achieved by filming actors moving in slow motion. Then, the footage was sped up by 3 to 4 times and some frames were skipped. A technique commonly used in horror films.
When the Screamer will arrive is still unclear. It shouldn’t take too long.
