In H1Z1 the fight against cheaters and hackers has been taken up, and with some enjoyment.
Sony Online Entertainment, led by President John Smedley, likes to brag that they are so tough on “hackers” and “cheats” in their games that even the big “black sites” eventually stop developing new cheats for SOE games, as it proves to be unprofitable.
Even in the Early Access game H1Z1, the fight against cheaters is taken up with delight. This is showing results.
There are threads on reddit where “Statements from the Banned” are compiled. They complain that they have been caught again. Some are already on their 4th account. Meanwhile, access to H1Z1 still costs $20.
At SOE, they apparently like such image collections. As combat designer Jimmy Whisenhunt wryly commented on Twitter: “Dear hackers, we’re sorry that some of you can no longer play. Thank you for your tears and donations. More bans are coming.”
