In the survival MMO H1Z1 there has been a response to the angry protests of players, and the developers are backing down.
Today we reported in a special about the anger surrounding the zombie MMO H1Z1. After 2 months, the previously free battle royale mode was set to cost admission tickets. These can either be purchased or earned through gameplay in that mode.
The fans reacted angrily and threatened to boycott, partly because the game is in a state that does not justify such monetization.
Studio boss John Smedley has now commented on Reddit. From their perspective, they had made it clear from the beginning that they planned to tie the battle royale mode to the tickets. However, it was equally clear that fans expected more from them as developers. Therefore, they will do everything possible to meet these expectations. They will focus on fixing bugs and introducing new features to ensure players are satisfied with H1Z1 enough to pay for it. Only then will they start charging players for H1Z1.
