If anyone expected a simple port of H1Z1 from the PC version on the PS4, they might be surprised. The PlayStation 4 version of the battle royale shooter is said to play differently – significantly faster and more like PUBG.

This will not be a simple port
H1Z1 on the PS4 is going to be a real console game: The developers behind H1Z1 have set out to make this version “different.” They have worked hard to adapt the game to the PlayStation 4 – not only in terms of controls but also gameplay. If you compare H1Z1 on PC and PS4, you get nearly two different titles.
What’s different? There are several changes compared to the PC version that make H1Z1 on the PS4 feel “slimmer” and play faster and more fluidly:
- As in other battle royale games, the play area also shrinks over time in H1Z1. However, the green gas cloud spreads more quickly on PC, making rounds faster.
- There is no more crafting system. Players should focus entirely on the action.
- You will find more weapons in the game world, including guns that don’t exist in the PC version yet – including the shotgun, a scout rifle, and the CNQ-09 SMG with suppressor. There’s also a heavy machine gun.
- It’s important to search the play area for useful equipment like helmets and armor.
- Supplies are dropped more frequently over the play area.
- There is a weapon leveling system. This means that at the beginning you will only find light weapons, but as the fog gets closer, more powerful weapons will appear

What do the changes bring? Because of these changes, H1Z1 plays significantly faster and the focus is, like in PUBG, on the battles. You can concentrate fully on searching for equipment and eliminating your opponents in fast-paced combat. This is an effort by the developers to counteract the downward trend that the PC version of the game is currently facing.
