The survival MMO H1Z1 will have to do without the services of Jimmy Whisenhunt in the future. He was responsible for the combat system of the game and one of the two faces in public.
Together with level designer Adam Clegg, ex-Counter-Strike pro Jimmy Whisenhunt formed something like the “moderation duo” for H1Z1. He hosted live streams, presented innovations, and was perhaps the most prominent figure for fans both before and after Early Access: active in social networks like Twitter, Twitch, or Reddit. In his actual job, he handled the combat system, weapon physics, and other things.
Whisenhunt is leaving H1Z1 because he is taking an “exciting opportunity” to work at Twitch.tv in San Francisco, but he wants to remain connected to H1Z1 and stream the game. He thanks SOE/DGC for the chance to establish himself in the industry. He also promises players that a crossbow, a Kalashnikov, and a Magnum are on their way. That’s quite a farewell gift.
