In H1Z1 , there was apparently a way for players to duplicate ammunition in the first few days.
H1Z1 players may have noticed: Loot was extremely scarce in the early days of the game. That makes it all the more astonishing when you take down an enemy in a “Robin Hood-style shooting with bow and arrow for the very, very poor” and 400 bullets fall from their pockets.
Those who said: “This can’t be true?!” are right: “This shouldn’t have been possible at all.”
The culprit was a type of “dupe” exploit that was circulating and likely involved the “proximity crafting.” Through this system, players can also craft items that are lying near them.
As this dupe spread, players demanded a “server reset or server wipe” so that everyone could start over from scratch. SOE initially turned that down and preferred to reset specific players instead.
At the moment, this is not very important anyway: This “exploit” was supposed to be fixed yesterday as part of a major patch, for which a two-hour maintenance window was requested. However, something seems to have gone wrong, and the servers are still down at the moment (October 21; 11:20).
In addition to the fix for the exploit, the patch should also bring melee headshots, the balancing in crafting has been changed so that more metal can now be obtained from “large metal items”, and there should finally be more loot in the containers in the world.
