Shortly before the release of the first Guild Wars 2 expansion, the developers now talked about the gear needed for raids.
Ready for the Rise
With the Heart of Thorns expansion, Guild Wars 2 introduces not only new areas, adventures, and guild halls, but also gives players a long-desired form of group content: raids. Although the entry barriers are expected to remain low, there will be minimum requirements that should be met to emerge victorious from the battles. The developers have commented on these requirements on Twitter and revealed: A mix of ascended and exotic gear is sufficient for entry; however, anyone who wants to defeat the final bosses should have a completely ascended wardrobe.
While the gear is not a strict requirement – if you like, you can also go into the raids with worse equipment – you run the risk of holding back the rest of the group. Those who want to be prepared should start looking for suitable gear now.
