It gets spooky in Lion’s Arch
Like almost all MMOs, Guild Wars 2 has a very special interpretation of Halloween. From October 23rd, Lion’s Arch will be decoratively transformed for almost 2 weeks, filled with lots of pumpkins and candies, because it’s time for “Trick or Treat!” The principle of the event is the same as in previous years: This time, the undead King Oswald Thorn causes havoc and lures brave players into his own instance, where he plays all sorts of creepy tricks on them (which often end in death).
However, there are some updates: A screenshot on the official homepage of Guild Wars 2 teases numerous rewards that players can look forward to. In addition to a (really disgusting) Mummy Backpack, there is also the much prettier Butterfly variant. New weapons, such as the Dragon Axe and thematically appropriate Wings, suit every Tyrian, even outside of Halloween time. Some of these can be obtained in the instance and at the various events, while others can be purchased for candies (the holiday currency) from the respective merchant.
Last but not least, Minis (pets) must not be missing, which will accompany you all year round and at least keep some of the dark atmosphere alive.
