A guild needs a home, especially in an MMORPG called Guild Wars 2. At the E3 gaming convention, ArenaNet announced the guild housing feature, which goes far beyond what is known from other guild halls.
Guild halls in Guild Wars 2 are not actually halls, but huge play areas with canyons, rivers, settlements, and cave systems. A guild is therefore able to own and manage an important and large part of the game world.
Initially, two different zones are available, Guilded Hollow and Lost Precipice, which only differ in appearance. Guilded Hollow is a massive cave connected to an outpost. Lost Precipice is a canyon with a river and an abandoned settlement.
Huge Zones Just for Guilds
However, a guild must first join the new Guild Initiative, which aims to protect the world from the dark dragons. If you complete quests for this organization, you will be rewarded with one of the guild “halls”. You then decide whether your guild should live in Guilded Hollow or Lost Precipice in the future. This decision is not final, as you can switch to the other zone at any time. It is possible to reach six buildings in your guild “hall”, including a workshop where you can craft decoration items, an arena to compete against each other, and a tavern where you can pick up buffs.
The buildings can also be expanded over time. You use decoration items to beautify your zone with wells, lamps, or seating areas. For arena battles, even turrets and traps can be created. Owning such a guild “hall” in Guild Wars 2 is therefore a great honor for any guild. The feature is introduced in the upcoming expansion Heart of Thorns.
Heart of Thorns Pre-Orders Started
Additionally, ArenaNet announced that this expansion can now be pre-ordered in three versions on the official Guild Wars 2 website. For €44.99, you receive the expansion Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns. If you pay €74.99, you will also get an additional character slot in the Deluxe Edition, the mini revenant Rytlock, the revenant death blow, the guild hall decoration Mordremoth’s Curse, and the “Heart of Thorns” glider skin.
