Guild Wars 1 is still a true classic, and many fans still fondly remember the unusual online role-playing game. After developer Arenanet encouraged it, a player started a petition aimed at creating an HD remake of the classic.
Anyone who played the first Guild Wars back then surely remembers the many cool ideas that Arenanet put into the online role-playing game. For example, the fair Buy2Play model, the cool new regions of the expansions (Jade Sea!) or the innovative skill gameplay inspired by trading card games.
Guild Wars 2 is not the same
The successor, Guild Wars 2, took a completely different direction in many areas and some players never really warmed up to the second part. Instead, they want the original Guild Wars back, but as a contemporary HD remake. Regarding this topic, Reddit user XClaytonHannaX asked the support of developer Arenanet.
The surprising answer was that they didn’t think the idea was bad, but they weren’t sure if enough people would buy such an HD remake. As a solution, they suggested: “Why not start a thread on Reddit and see who joins in?” XClaytonHannaX has since done this and the Reddit post about the HD remake of Guild Wars has already gathered 81 comments and over 200 upvotes. Perhaps we will eventually really get an HD remake of Guild Wars and its cool add-ons. Another player has already remastered the old trailer of Guild Wars into an HD version, which we don’t want to withhold from you.
