In June 2024, there will be more information about the new expansion for Guild Wars 2. This was announced by a teaser. It also reveals a detail that players are already celebrating.
What does the teaser show? The teaser gives you only a small insight into the new expansion for Guild Wars 2. It shows a character diving through the water and coming back ashore after a few short swimming strokes.
Here, the teaser seems to announce a new area, as the camera then moves over a building hidden between cliffs and waterfalls. Just before that, the character takes the spear, which they carry on their back, into a combat-ready position.
What detail delights the fans? It is exactly the spear that the character has that brings joy to the fans. In the comments under the teaser (via YouTube), there are many questions about “land spears” and many players seem to be in disbelief.
“Is that … a spear? Leaving the water?” asks a user in their comment. Another user, who does not play Guild Wars, wonders if this is really such a big deal. And if you look at the rest of the comments, the answer is quite clear: Yes!
From the underwater weapon to the land spear?
Until now, the spear was only an underwater weapon in Guild Wars 2. For all players who like to fight with the spear, this was probably quite frustrating. Now it seems that this is about to change, if we are to believe the teaser.
A user writes in their comment that the title of the teaser makes sense. It reads: “There’s something leaving the water …” In German, this is: “Etwas verlässt das Wasser …” It is also quite likely that this “something” is not the character, but really the spear.
When will there be more information? Whether the players are correct in their assumption will probably be known only when official information about the expansion is released.
