Players who want to easily acquire gold in Guild Wars 2 should take advantage of the events in the Domain of Istan. Around Palawadan and the Hall of the Crescent Moons, there are chests and champions that provide many rewards in a short time. However, with the latest patch, ArenaNet has made changes to this.
What happened? Community Manager Gaile Gray announced in the forum that changes will be made to the chests in the events in the Domain of Istan.
The goal of these changes is that players should visit the events daily to earn massive gold. However, the extreme farming of the map should be reduced.
Therefore, a daily limit on chests was introduced with the patch on Tuesday. In Palawadan, only 30 chests can now be opened, and in the Hall of the Crescent Moons, 12.
In compensation, the chests should receive better rewards. However, this does not seem to be the case yet, as players report on Reddit.

The end of farming events? Players in Guild Wars 2 are reacting differently. Some fear that the changes could spell the end of the Istan events.
The mentioned events occur every two hours at XX:45. Even if one run would now offer more rewards, certain hours could become ingrained in players’ schedules for these events.
During the rest of the day, the map would then be empty. This would especially affect players who do not play during the evening prime time.

Hope for the economy? Other players, however, see significant advantages in the changes. Casual players who would only participate in the event once a day would benefit from the modification.
It could also be beneficial for the economy. Currently, many prices for materials are low, and this is also due to players excessively farming certain events.

Our author Alex thinks: This is an opportunity for other meta-events
I personally see the change in the Domain of Istan as a great opportunity for Guild Wars 2. Certain events currently give too much gold for too little effort. Other events require too much effort for too little gold.
Adjustments of other events: If further daily limits, for example, were introduced in the Silverwastes, then players would be forced to play other maps as well.
At the same time, new daily rewards could be introduced for other meta-events, such as the wrath of the serpents from Path of Fire.
This could potentially lead to farming groups developing that go through each event gradually. Casual players could then simply join these groups and effectively earn gold.

Daily event successes: In my ideal vision, ArenaNet could even introduce a new daily category.
In this category, there could be additional rewards for daily changing events. This would also ensure that players who experience certain maps later than others still have the opportunity to achieve success.
The meta-event from the new episode could also remain popular due to these adjustments:
