Guild Wars 2 spills the beans and reveals some exciting numbers – including which class combination no one likes.
Guild Wars 2 has launched its second major expansion, Path of Fire. To celebrate the launch of the new addon, ArenaNet shares some information with the public. For this purpose, there is an extensive infographic filled with big numbers to highlight the successes of Guild Wars 2.
The most popular combination of race and class is the Human Warrior. This seems logical, as what could be more associated with Guild Wars than human warriors going head-to-head?
The counterpart has also been mentioned. While ArenaNet calls it the “most unusual” character combo, it could also simply be called least popular. That is the Charr Revenant, a class that was introduced only with the last expansion.
Other numbers are interesting too. Over its nearly 5 years, Guild Wars has attracted more than 11 million players, who have created a total of over 53,000,000 characters – an average of almost 5 characters per player.
Regarding the “11 million players,” as is often the case: We don’t know how exactly that number is composed, so player counts for MMOs should always be taken with caution, as there is some trickery involved.
Particularly proud seems to be the last point. So far, 61 free updates have been released, which have expanded the game by more than 2 million words – counting texts and voiceovers together. That would correspond to the length of 400 plays.
But enough of the preliminaries. Here is the complete infographic. Enjoy scrolling!
