In the fantasy MMO Guild Wars 2, there’s a new lumberjack axe in the Gem Store – and ArenaNet has come up with something special.
Normally, we don’t report on cosmetic items in MMO stores (“Oh! There’s the twenty-fourth costume this year!” “Oh, the exclusive pet that only buyers of a Collector’s Edition should have received is now available in another color for everyone!”). But for special things, we gladly make an exception.
In Guild Wars 2, generous arborists can now purchase the Woodchop-R-Tron for the considerable sum of 1000 gems. Gameplay-wise, it’s simply an axe that you never have to replace. But that would be somewhat cruel considering the animations and the show that the woodchopping bot puts on. A brave new world: We never have to chop down a tree ourselves again.
Not only the animation makes one smile, but also the lines are something. Whether one is willing to put down the considerable sum of 1000 gems is another question.
