The MMORPG Guild Wars 2 is celebrating its 10th anniversary. On this occasion, it is giving away mount skins that you can pick up until September 19.
Anyone who logs into Guild Wars 2 will currently receive a skin for their mount for free. However, these are only skins that were released before the End of Dragons expansion.
Normally, you would have to buy mount skins in the real money shop, so it’s worth picking up the free skin. Each player can choose one skin for their mount. If you don’t manage to do this by mid-September, the item will automatically expire.
Information about the End of Dragons expansion can be seen in the video:
Initially, a tweet from the MMORPG caused confusion. The free skins were announced, and a video showed which ones were not actually free. After some player inquiries, the Twitter account of Guild Wars 2 clarified everything and deleted the first tweet.
The free item is the “pre-EoD mount selection license,” where EoD stands for End of Dragons. Guild Wars 2 apologized for the previous confusion.
Guild Wars 2 is now on Steam
With its 10th birthday, the MMORPG has finally been released on Steam, which fans have been waiting for years. You can now download and play it there. Alternatively, Guild Wars 2 can still be launched via the own client.
The developers hope to attract new players with this. Additionally, they are giving you a popular mount from the endgame when you reach level 10. Previously, you had to reach level 80 for that.
The base game of Guild Wars 2 is free. However, if you are enthusiastic about the MMORPG, you can purchase the “Complete Edition”. This edition costs €100 and includes all previous expansions.
Have you already chosen a free mount skin? Which of your mounts will you give a new look? Do you prefer playing Guild Wars 2 on Steam or still via the client? Feel free to let us know in the comments here on MeinMMO!
