The next patch of Guild Wars 2 brings gliding to Tyria. But what do you have to do for that and what restrictions are there?
Soaring high in old lands
In the next content patch, gliding, which was previously only possible in Heart of Thorns, will also be brought to the old world of Guild Wars 2. The requirement for this is quite simple: Only the start of the gliding mastery needs to be unlocked – the lowest level that also allows gliding in Maguuma.
However, there will be a flying ban in some areas. This affects all instanced areas like dungeons but also all jumping puzzles that could easily be bypassed using gliding. Other zones will also be blocked to prevent characters from falling through the world and sinking into the depths of darkness.
However, players should not expect too much from this new feature. The old world has not been revised in any way, so there are no updrafts that would allow particularly high or far flights. Nevertheless, it will be possible to reach a few places that were previously inaccessible – at least organizers of large events or virtual scavenger hunts will greatly enjoy the enhanced mobility.
