Just under a week after the launch of the Guild Wars 2 expansion, some systems are being simplified.
Elite Spec: Now with 35% less effort
The release of Heart of Thorns was just a week ago and already the developers are rolling back some systems. According to feedback from many players, unlocking the elite specialization of their characters takes too long, and they want to be able to use the new abilities sooner. The developers are responding to the criticism and have reduced the required hero points from 400 to 250 in the latest patch. Those who have already spent more than the now required 250 points will receive a refund for the difference.
More adventures for everyone
But there are also improvements in other areas. The adventures are immensely popular among players. Some love them so much that they don’t want to stop playing.
Here, the event system of Guild Wars 2 disrupts these plans. If a specific event is currently happening, the adventures cannot be played. This makes sense, as one cannot participate in a peaceful game of sack racing while a city is being attacked by the Mordrem. However, some adventures have been blocked unjustly and too often, the restrictions have been eased for the following:
- Insects in the branches
- Shooting gallery
- Show flight
- Bug feast
Adjustment of server load
Lastly, there is an adjustment to the server structure. A bug in the system caused the megaserver to occasionally create too many instances of an area, leading to players wandering around alone. From now on, players should encounter more allies in the zones.
