In the fantasy MMORPG Guild Wars 2 , the elite specialization of the new class Revenant has been announced. It is the Herald.
ArenaNet is working with US sites to introduce the remaining specializations. Ten Ton Hammer was given the Elementalist, Massively Overpowered the Revenant.
It is indeed a bit strange to explain the elite specialization of a class that is coming with the expansion, but oh well.
Herald intended as a front-line supporter
The “Herald” is intended as a front-line supporter, standing alongside his comrades and supporting them in battle – similar to a Paladin in other games. He can take a shield in his off-hand, highlighting his defensive qualities. However, he can also stand behind the front lines, focusing more on crowd control and enhancing his ranged allies.
The Herald can also channel certain characters from the lore of Guild Wars, known as legends. In the case of the Herald, it is actually “Glint.” Cortyn has told you the story behind Glint in this article.
As Glint, the Herald can apply various auras to himself and his group. Then he can explode them with a “special effect.” After that, a cooldown occurs. This way, he can buff his group with an aura and then “ignite” them to slow down enemies.
Or he can protect his team members with another aura and then ignite them to slow down enemies and speed up allies.
With additional abilities, Glint can extend buff effects (not just his own) and synchronize auras so that your buff effects are triggered at the same time. Thus, the Herald is a buff machine with crowd control aspects when acting as Glint.
As is often the case with slightly more complex game mechanics, especially with supporters, one will probably need to see the class live to string together the pearls of wisdom. On Friday evening our time, ArenaNet will introduce the Herald in more detail during a stream.
