In 2013, the Super Adventure Box was created as an April Fool’s joke by the developers of Guild Wars 2. It is a retro gaming world within a game. In 2019, it returns with changes, and the new vendor is particularly interesting.
Update 2020: The SAB returns again in 2020. It will be available from April 14 to May 12. New additions include a weapon set, a new race, and a new meta reward in the form of a helmet.
What’s new in the Super Adventure Box 2019? ArenaNet made only minor changes to the Super Adventure Box this year. There are mainly four new achievements that can be completed within the box.
Two of the achievements are races, which are comparable to the races around the roll bugs. The goal is to collect a series of coins as quickly as possible, which are well hidden in the zones.
The other two achievements focus on finding hidden content in the zones. These are significantly harder to reach.
The highlight of the patch, however, is a new vendor.
What can the new vendor do? The new vendor sells different materials for orb bubbles every week. Currently, you can get:
- 3x Mystic Coin – 5 Orb Bubbles each
- 3x Transmutation Charges – 4 Orb Bubbles each
- 3x Chest with Legendary Shards – 6 Orb Bubbles each
- 1x Currency Exchange Voucher – 16 Orb Bubbles
These bubbles can be earned in the SAB and exchanged for weapon skins. However, once you have all the weapons, the currency has been useless until now. However, the sometimes very valuable materials also revive the old content.
The new vendor is located in both Rata Sum and in the Super Adventure Box itself.

What is the Super Adventure Box? The Super Adventure Box is a huge jump & run game within the game. You jump with your character, unconstrained by a class, through a colorful world reminiscent of the 8-bit era.
It is characterized by difficult jumps and a very tough mode. However, there is also an easy mode for beginners.
Together with the return of the Super Adventure Box, a patch was applied that changes the loot system in Guild Wars 2. In addition, initial bugs with the mount Warclaw were fixed.
