In Destiny 2, the NPC Saint-14 has returned to the Tower: a kind of Christmas miracle, as the Titan was long considered deceased and could only be experienced in the legends of Destiny. Now, players are enjoying the Titan and his sayings.
It is rare for Destiny to surprise the Guardians, but at Christmas 2019, this seems to be happening. For the legendary Titan, The 14th Holy, is a new NPC in the Tower of Destiny 2. This does not usually happen.
Players have long gotten used to the few permanent NPCs in Destiny 2: Such variety is welcome. Especially since Saint-14 has already made a strong impression in his quests in Season 9.
The Russian Titan of “lovable teddy bear” has won many fans among the Guardians. For 5 years, Saint-14 has only been found in the legends of Destiny; now he is physically present in the Tower.
Beautiful references to the story of Destiny
These are 2 special scenes: If you wear the “Helmet of the 14th Holy” and approach Saint-14, he will recognize you. He then laughs and says: “You look just like me. Come on, let’s confuse Zavala.”
Saint-14 also seems to be obsessed with birds. He says you should only handle them gently. They are not like a weapon; you cannot squeeze them. He will later show the Guardian how to hold a bird properly.
The fondness of Saint-14 for pigeons is already known by Destiny 1 veterans from a Jump Ship. There it was said about the exotic ship “Gray Pigeon of the 14th Holy”:
The name? Pigeons are the only birds that remain in the city sky. They are one of the many things we fight for. If you have a problem with that, we can settle it in the Crucible.

Other lore cards also hinted at the Russian giant’s fondness for pigeons.

This is how the Guardians react: There is a lot of praise for Saint-14 on reddit. He embodies the spirit of a warrior who never gives up. He reminds players of Master Chief. (via reddit)
Moreover, he is just nice. Saint-14 reminds players what it means to be a Guardian, says one player. Because it is not about killing gods on distant planets, but about the small things. The desire to still be alive, the honor and joy one feels in protecting the last humans.
These are additional beautiful scenes involving Saint-14:
The Titan has some other sayings:
- He says to Hunters: “Good luck with stealing… or whatever you’re doing.”
- Saint-14 tells that a boy visited him and threw a toy shield at him: “A future Titan, I love it!”
Both NPCs, Zavala and Ikora Rey, also seem to be happy at Christmas that Saint-14 is back. Only Ikora warns with raised eyebrows not to let it become a habit to play with timelines.
Saint-14 could become the new NPC for the Trials
What happens with Saint-14? Overall, it seems that Bungie has done a lot for the soul of Destiny 2 with Saint-14. Additionally, Saint-14 stands on a carpet with the symbol of Osiris.
Therefore, hope arises that with Season 10 he could possibly become the quest NPC for the Trials of Osiris, the PvP activity from Destiny 1.
For there are indications that they could return to Destiny 2 while the unwanted “Trials of the Nine” are probably best forgotten by Bungie.

The biggest wish for Christmas of many Guardians seems to be: Oh please, Bungie, let Saint-14 stay permanently in Destiny 2 (via reddit).
