Players were pleasantly surprised in one of the latest episodes of American Dad: Right at the beginning of the episode, one of the characters plays Destiny 2. As it turned out later, both media are connected more than one might assume at first glance.
What joke is it about? In one of the latest episodes of the US animated series American Dad, the creators included a joke related to Destiny 2. In Episode 6 of Season 14 of the series, a character plays Bungie’s loot shooter right at the beginning of the episode.
The fish Klaus is seen sitting in front of the TV with a controller and headset. On the floor is the console, next to it several game cases and discs.
Through the headset, Klaus yells at his teammate: “If you have the Legendary Shards, I would recommend visiting Xur on Titan and buying the rocket launcher Wardcliff Coil…Then get the Legendary Shards, you damn suckboy!…Third grader.”

What connects the series and the game? A funny detail is that the voice actor of the fish Klaus in American Dad also lent his voice to a character from Destiny 1. He voiced Variks the Loyal, who could be found in Destiny 1 in the Reef and served Queen Mara Sov. By the way, the queen is once again causing speculation among the Guardians.
In Destiny 2, players have not encountered Variks yet. However, the Fallen was responsible for the prison break in Forsaken. His voice can be heard in the strike “Guardians of Nothing”.
What do the players say? In the Destiny subreddit, the brief scene in American Dad is well received. Many are amused by the way Klaus speaks to his teammate.
The post on Reddit seems to have attracted one of the authors of the series. User skycrooner420 states that he wrote the episode in question. The dialogue is a word-for-word plagiarism of a text message he received at 3:15 AM from American Dad showrunner Brian Boyle.
The user further states that American Dad even has its own clan, the “Dadders.” The players have certainly already wiped someone from the team in the Crucible.
