It was known that under certain conditions, one could generate insane damage numbers in Destiny 2 . However, a Guardian has now set the record and reached the maximum damage number against a strike boss. How did he achieve this?
What exactly did the Guardian do? The Titan utilized various effects, whether provided by the game or through certain buffs from teammates or his exotic armor, to send a strike boss to the virtual afterlife with just a single blow.
No weapon in the game is capable of this; it is currently only possible through the combination of certain abilities. A damage number of 999.999 was caused, which is the maximum possible in the game. Effectively, the hit may even reach into the millions, but the game cannot display more.

Which boss had to face the consequences? It was Sedia, the Corrupted, the final boss of the Possessed Strike from the Dreaming City. Although a projectile must be thrown at the boss before damage can be dealt, the impact on the witch’s health bar is marginal. One can therefore certainly say that the boss was defeated with just one hit.
How was this gigantic damage number achieved? This is only possible under certain conditions. The Guardian played as a Hammer Titan with a Solar focus and the middle talent tree.

The following multipliers played a role in the damage calculation:
- Solar Ignition – 25% more damage from Solar attacks
- Brute – double melee damage
- Biotic Enhancements – exotic perk of the gloves Synthoceps (triple melee damage)
- Burning Fists – exotic perk of the gloves Wormgod’s Caress (9.15x more melee damage)
- Roaring Flames – a 3 stack also increases melee damage by about 170%
- Hammer Strike – another 50% more melee damage
- Riven’s Curse Mod – a mod increases damage by 5%. The Guardian wore 5 of them, thus an additional 25% extra damage
After all the buffs were activated, the Titan threw a hammer at Sedia (melee attack from the middle talent tree). To combine the effects of two different exotic armors, they must be switched at the right moment. However, the cooldowns of the abilities allow for relatively stress-free equipment switching, even on consoles.

By the way: According to the Guardian, who is also known as Redditor A_DVS_NTT, not all multipliers should interact with each other. He believes he shouldn’t have been able to deal so much damage. However, determining where a faulty synergy lies is not easy.
Here you can watch the action in the video: If you want to see the whole thing in video form, we have linked the corresponding clip for you below.
What role did the Well of Radiance play? Shouldn’t the Well of Radiance of the Warlocks have also increased the damage? The Well of Radiance was only placed so that the Titan could switch his equipment without dying. The Well itself only positively affects weapon damage, but not abilities.
In general, it must be said that such damage numbers are only possible in certain situations and with specific modifiers. Without the modifiers Solar Ignition and Brute, this action would likely not have been possible.
