Destiny 2 will again hold the Guardian Games in April. A fresh leak now gives an initial glimpse of the new rewards. What prizes does the big class competition bring in 2021?
Where does the info come from? Recently, Destiny 2 received the new Update 3.1.1. While this patch focused mostly on fixing bugs and issues, it also brought the Grandmaster Nightfall difficulty and apparently some new data into the game. These have now been uncovered by diligent dataminers.
Among other things, new entries and images for the upcoming “Guardian Games” event were found. However, please note: While the findings come directly from the game data and the likelihood is high that it will appear exactly like this in the game, these are still unconfirmed details. So treat it with the appropriate caution for now.
When does the event start? The Guardian Games begin according to the roadmap on April 20 and will run until May 9. The competition thus spans nearly 3 weeks of Season 13.
Leak grants an initial look at the new rewards
New armor sets: In addition to a new class item for each Guardian class, there will also be a new armor set for each. The class item will likely be obtained again through the event’s contact, while the armors will come as bundles via Eververse – both for Glimmer and Silver.

New exotic masterwork catalyst: Additionally, it seems that the exotic machine gun Collective Obligation will be obtainable again this year and will even receive its own masterwork catalyst. This will be obtained through a separate quest.
As a masterwork, Collective Obligation will receive the new perk “Legion’s Bulwark.” This enhances the Arc shield of Collective Obligation and partially reloads the magazine when that shield is broken.
New cosmetics: Apparently, there will be some new cosmetics – including:
- new ghost shells
- new ships
- new sparrows
- new emotes
- new transmat effect
- new emblem
