Have you seen players on their yachts in GTA Online during your sessions? Then you might be wondering if this investment is worth it given the prices. We’ll show you what buying one brings.
You don’t want to burn your hard-earned money in GTA Online, but still want to spend it? No problem – just get yourself a yacht for several million GTA dollars.
If someone has convinced you that these things are useless, that’s only half true. We’ll show you why they can also be a bit useful.
Prices and Benefits of a Yacht
The cost of yachts: Anyone who wants to buy a yacht must pay at least 6 million GTA dollars at Docktease. And that’s still the cheapest model:
- Cheapest yacht – The Orion for 6,000,000 GTA dollars
- Mid-range: The Pisces for 7,000,000 GTA dollars
- Most expensive yacht: The Aquarius for 8,000,000 GTA dollars
But those are just the prices for the base version. Real yacht fans among you would naturally want to upgrade their floating fortress. And as we know from the “gaming stations” of PC players, colorful designs must not be missing.
After purchasing the standard edition, you can customize the following aspects:
- Fittings: Chrome fittings on railings, portholes, and helicopter landing pads cost you nothing – but the golden fittings will set you back 750,000 GTA dollars.
- Lighting in presidential or lively style (+315,000 $ to 600,000 $)
- Color scheme (+135,000 $ to 650,000 $)
- Flag (Choosing a new flag after the initial purchase costs 25,000 $)
So if you buy the expensive Aquarius for 8 million GTA dollars and add the most expensive upgrades, it will cost you 10 million GTA dollars. If you want to buy this whole package with real money, you’ll be spending about 100 €.
What do you get when buying? If you choose the mid-range or the most expensive yacht, you get a jacuzzi and a luxury heli free of charge. The Pisces comes with the Buckingham Swift Deluxe helicopter. And with the Aquarius, you’ll be gifted the Buckingham SuperVolito Carbon.
Additionally, you can call boats and jet skis to travel from the yacht to land. But that, of course, costs extra.
With the purchase, you also get two characters (NPCs). The captain and a bar man or woman. The captain drives your yacht for a fee of 25,000 GTA dollars to another location.
You will also find various weapons lying around on board that replenish your ammunition.
And for protection against air attacks, there is an anti-aircraft system on board that the player can activate.
Should I buy one?
It’s worth buying if … you do not want to get rich with a yacht. There are many ways to earn a lot of money in the game. And the yacht is likely very low on that list. Although a patch in summer 2020 made the yacht in GTA Online finally more useful, you still won’t get rich with it. There are now additional missions that you can only start from your yacht.

From a player’s perspective, a yacht should be seen more as a status symbol. It is purchased by those who have a lot of money and expect to have millions back in their account soon anyway. There is not this one exclusive content that a yacht offers that justifies the huge price of millions of GTA dollars. Those who can afford such a yacht should rather invest elsewhere first.
