What happens today? On December 15, Rockstar Games will release the “biggest update ever for GTA Online“. A focus of the expansion is the new heist “Cayo Perico”. It is the first heist in GTA Online that can also be played solo.
Another important part of the update is the large map expansion: the island Cayo Perico.

When will the update be available in GTA Online?
Time: We can be sure that the update will be released today, December 15.
There is no official time from Rockstar Games yet. However, an insider claims to already know the overview. VideoTech published a map with the start times for the update in different time zones on Twitter. According to this overview, the update is supposed to be released in Germany at 11:00 AM.
This would also roughly align with the start times of previous updates.
What’s included in the Cayo Perico update? Prices and vehicles
The map expansion + heist: We could already see the new part of the map of GTA Online in trailers. The island Cayo Perico serves as the location for the new heist.
If you want, you can play the new heist completely alone. You are supposed to infiltrate the island and steal the drug baron’s favorite and most valuable items, who resides there and throws parties.

As a player, you can choose different approaches similar to the Casino Heist. It is up to you which tools you use.
New info: According to RockstarIntel on Twitter, the new island Cayo Perico is not accessible in free roam. You can only visit it during the heist. However, this turned out to be only half true. The Twitter page GTANet corrects and explains that you can explore the island at least partially. But the guards will quickly toss you off the island if you go too far.
New vehicles: We already know that a submarine is part of the update. It is also used to plan the new heist. Rockstar Games states that the “large, versatile, and heavily armed submarine serves as headquarters”.
How and whether it can also be used outside the heist is still unclear.
The GTA insider TezFunz explains that the submarine is supposed to cost two to three million GTA dollars. With upgrades, the price is expected to rise to up to ten million GTA dollars.

New vehicles: A total of 7 new vehicles will be available at the launch of the Cayo Perico update. This includes a submarine, two boats, two cars, a helicopter, and an airplane. Over the next few weeks, the Rockstar Games team will likely activate more vehicles that you can then drive.
