Rockstar has officially revealed the prices for the Next-Gen editions of GTA V and GTA Online for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Additionally, there is a little bonus: new players receive a substantial amount of gifts.
What gifts do I get? According to the official blog post from Rockstar, new players or those starting with a new character receive a “Career Builder”. With that, you can choose from one of four careers. Included are:
- 4,000,000 GTA $
- a business property
- a vehicle
- and a weapon
The paths to choose from are the executive, the arms smuggler, the nightclub owner, or the biker. For each career, there is a “wide selection” of missions, and with the money, you can purchase additional items. However, in GTA Online, you can only take 1 million with you.

GTA V for PS5 and Xbox Series X – Upgrade Details
How much does the upgrade cost? The upgrade has been listed in the respective stores since March 8. In the PS Store, it costs €9.99 for the first 3 months, after which the price rises to €39.99. So you don’t get a truly free upgrade.
However, GTA Online is free on PS5 for at least the first 3 months. Afterwards, it is expected to cost €19.99.
In the Xbox store, GTA V is currently listed at €19.99, while only GTA Online is at €9.99. Both prices, however, include discounts of 50%. So after the promotion, you pay €39.99 or €19.99, just like with the PS5 version.
The prices are for the digital version. Physical versions are expected to be available from April.
When is it happening? The upgrade is scheduled for release on March 15, 2022. However, the preload starts now, so you can begin preload immediately. The size is expected to be roughly 90 GB.
