In GTA 5 Online players are currently being punished hard by Rockstar Games. The reason for this is a glitch in the casino that they exploited to get rich quick.
This is the situation: There are several casino glitches that players like to use to become rich quickly and easily.
However, the GTA community is now reporting various penalties that players have received for allegedly exploiting the chip glitch in the casino. The penalties from Rockstar are harsh and not every player is affected equally.
Money gone, ban or complete account reset
This is how Rockstar reacts to the exploitation of the glitch: Normally, “cheaters” have the money they gained through the glitch deducted from their account.
Now and then a major ban wave occurs when a new glitch is extensively exploited. But this time the penalty seems to be even harsher than usual.
There are 3 different ways in which players are affected:
- A portion of the money is deducted from the player’s account
- Players lose all their wealth
- The account receives a complete reset (you start over from scratch)
This is confirmed by Rockstar support themselves on their page, when a player asks why money was deducted from them.
What does a complete reset mean? Those who receive this penalty are hit particularly hard. This player has to start completely anew. Everything they earned, bought, and all the progress they made over the years is then gone.
They even have to create a new character and start again at level 1. For long-time players who have invested a lot of time, it is a painful sight.
This is what happens when players continue to use the glitch: If the chip glitch from the casino continues to be exploited, Rockstar will issue a ban that may be temporary or even permanent.
In another glitch that affected horse racing in the casino, Rockstar could not intervene in the long term, as players quickly found a way to further exploit the glitch in altered form.
