In GTA Online, the Halloween season has begun. Creepy encounters may await you from now on – but not all the time.
Halloween in GTA Online begins: The Halloween content in GTA Online may literally cross your path from now on. There are various features that contribute to the creepy atmosphere.
Two particularly exciting contents are the “Phantom Cars” and the “Slasher” event.
However, you can only find both contents under certain conditions. We’ll show you what you need to do.
Phantom Car and Slasher in GTA Online – Requirements
Both the Phantom Car and the Slasher can encounter you in the open world of GTA Online.
What is the Phantom Car? The “Phantom Car” is a driverless vehicle that attaches itself to your bumper when you drive through the streets of Los Santos. However, if you’re on foot or get out, there’s a risk that the car will ignite itself – and attack you with an explosion.
What are the Slashers? “Slashers” are various creepy killers that can attack you seemingly out of nowhere. For example, there’s a clown or a crazy, burning guy.

Requirements: In order to encounter the Phantom Car or the killers, you must not be indoors. They are only out at night – from 21:00 to 05:00.
According to “GTA Series Videos”, you must also have been in the session for at least 16 minutes, and at least one other player must also be in the session.
The killers can only appear in certain spawn areas. If you defeat such a Slasher, you can get the Twilight Knife T-shirt.
Lastly, the Phantom Car and killers probably only pursue you if you are in a regular car. Helicopters, airplanes, or armed vehicles are not attacked by the Phantom Car.
Both events are said to have a cooldown of 15 minutes according to GTA insider Tez2 (via Twitter).
