A new trailer for GTA 5 Online has been released for the Cayo Perico Heist. The video showcases climbing hooks and glass cutters. Initial hints on how you can approach the new heist. Fans of GTA Online are already looking forward to the new “Cayo Perico” heist.
What is it about? Rockstar Games has released a new video focusing on the new heist “Cayo Perico”. It is part of the biggest update for GTA Online, which will be released on December 15, 2020.

What happens during the heist?
This is shown in the video: The video begins with two women seemingly boarding a plane at Los Santos Airport to reach the new map expansion, the island. The island of Cayo Perico belongs to the drug lord El Rubio – and there is a lot happening on the island.
The new Cayo Perico heist revolves around you robbing this private paradise of the drug lord.
The video switches over to the island and gives some insights into what you can expect during the heist in GTA Online.
Enemies: Regarding the enemies, we know that they guard the island from watchtowers, hunt you with attack helicopters, and can rappel from helicopters from the air.
They also drive boats over the water, equipped with machine guns.
Tools: The video clearly shows that we need a submarine for the heist. How exactly the underwater vehicle will be used is still unclear.
During the break-in, a glass-cutting tool is also needed to quietly remove the art pieces of the drug lord.
For a stealthy approach, you can apparently use the grappling hook to scale the walls of the private island.
Spoils: At the end of the video, we see a character loading gold bars into his pocket. It is quite possible that this is one of the possible loot options. It could work similarly to the Casino heist, where depending on the heist, you have different items as robbery targets. Through the video, we know about art pieces and gold bars.
In the description, Rockstar Games explains that treasures in the form of artworks, jewels, and drug money are hidden on the island.
How much money can be earned is still officially unclear. However, on the planning screen in the new trailer, two sums can be seen:
- Madrazo Files: 1.1 million dollars
- Secondary Targets: 2,848.8 million dollars
If all of this were paid out to players, one could earn nearly 4 million dollars here.
What kind of heist is this? The Cayo Perico Heist is a robbery for 1-4 players. It is the first heist in GTA Online that can be completed solo.
The island where the heist takes place is also part of the second major hobby of the drug smuggler El Rubio. That is parties. On the beaches of the island, everyone who has a name and rank dances.
