Why do this? The character Patrick “Packie” McReary is part of the Casino Heist in GTA Online. You can unlock him through a mission and then use him as a sharpshooter during your break-in at the casino vault. He acts as support for the new heist.
How to unlock Packie? The unlocking happens through an event that randomly takes place on the map of GTA Online. A police van transports Packie and a buddy through the world of GTA Online. You ambush the van, get rid of the cops, and then take McReary to his hideout. In the guide, we will show you how it works.
The preparation: Start a session in GTA Online. It can be public, invite-only, friends-only, or any other type of session. The main thing is that there are a handful of other players in the session. There must be at least 3 other active players in your game.
Once you have made this preparation, you now need to hope for a bit of randomness.
Finding Packie McReary in GTA Online – Location and Time
The location of Patrick McReary: You wait for police sirens to sound near you and for the police to appear as a small blue dot on the minimap. This can happen anywhere on the map of GTA Online. According to players, there are certain locations where the event starts particularly reliably. The best time for this is said to be between 9 PM and 9 AM.
Time and again, the vineyards to the west of the map, below Fort Zancudo, are mentioned. According to players, the chance of the event occurring here is very high. Drive to the marked spot that you can see on the map embedded here. Park and turn off the radio so you can hear the police sirens.
Other locations where players found the transport with Patrick McReary are:
- Route 68 Clubhouse
- Route 68 Ammunation
- The highway in front of the casino
- In front of the main entrance of Fort Zancudo
Here’s what happens next: Wait at the spot for a few minutes. If you hear sirens and see a small blue dot on the minimap, head there immediately. You will find a police transporter with cops in the driver and passenger seats.
These two police officers need to be shot. But be careful! Do not use explosive weapons and do not be too brutal. In the back of the vehicle, McReary is sitting with another guy. Only take out the cops in front and then get in.
Now you need to get rid of the police. Either drive away from them or call Lester on your mobile, who will remove the wanted level for you.
Now take Packie to his hideout. You will earn 10,000 GTA dollars and unlock him as a sharpshooter for the Casino Heist. You can now use him.
