The new “The Contract” update for GTA Online finally brings a counter against the Oppressor Mk 2. Players are excited about this, posting videos of how they are fighting against the Griefers.
What’s new? On December 15, the new “The Contract” update for GTA Online was released. In the game, you can now find new cars, weapons, agencies, and also weapon lockers. Just these contents are being well received by the community. However, a new content that you can install in cars is currently being celebrated.
Players are saying it is probably the best new feature in the entire update. Because with it, Griefers with flying motorcycles can be countered.
Install jammer for homing missiles in cars
What kind of content is this? In the vehicle workshop, you can install the new jammer for homing missiles in your cars. However, there are some restrictions, as only four cars are currently qualified for this feature. If you install it, players flying vehicles like the Oppressor Mk 2 can no longer send homing missiles on the chase to you. No, they have to aim properly and manually target you.
Which vehicles does this work with? Currently only with
- Buffalo STX
- Dewbauchee Champion
- Enus Deity
- Enus Jubilee
They are all vehicles from the new update. All new cars and weapons with prices from The Contract can be found on MeinMMO.
How do you install it? Visit your vehicle workshop within your agency with one of the listed vehicles. Then, you will find the tab with “Imani Tech” in the tuning options. You know Imani as the hacker in your agency. There you will find the option for the new jammers.
What do players say about the jammer?
What does it look like in action? In a video by flugherbutter, the effects of the jammer can be seen. The player is being chased by an Oppressor Mk2 and tries to shake off the pursuer with several turns. Since this now needs a straight line to shoot and his homing missiles are useless, he hesitates to fire. On a straight stretch, flugherbutter then hits the brakes hard. Due to the sudden stop, the motorcycle shooter crashes along with his vehicle and the missile into the car and does not survive the accident. The car, however, withstands the attack.
Before the update, shooting with the Oppressor was a piece of cake. With homing missiles, you could target your goals from high above in the air and knock them down. This was annoying and exploited by Griefers for years.
This is what reddit says: In the GTA Online community, the jammers (Missile Lock-on Jammer) are a huge topic. Players are glad that they finally have a counter against the annoying opponents that stalk them with their flying motorcycles. “Oppressor players are now hitting their monitors,” jokes Jjzeng on reddit.
Player randomhippie123 says on reddit: “That’s probably the best part of the update” and receives a lot of approval for it. Other players would wish for the upgrade for their old cars that they often use. So Rockstar still has room for improvement.
So far, players have used funny tricks to take revenge on annoying Oppressor Griefers.
How do you like the new feature from the “The Contract” update? Will you install it in the new cars or have the Griefers never bothered you enough that installation would be worthwhile?
