In GTA Online, Rockstar Games took a hard stance against brazen cheaters. And those affected are now venting their frustration. They are nagging and whining like there’s no tomorrow.
What happened to the cheaters? In recent weeks, a particular glitch was popular in GTA Online. The garage glitch filled players’ pockets with several hundred million GTA dollars if they used it often and long enough.
For the illegal money-making, they sold apartments significantly above their intended selling price, thus stuffing their pockets with green bills. This was not something done by accident, but something for which they deliberately followed a guide.
Rockstar watched the problem for a while and then struck back hard. Some of the most brazen players who exploited this mechanic lost everything: Players show their account resets after the garage glitch in GTA Online.

Why do you keep the glitch in the game, Rockstar?
Here’s what cheaters say: On Twitter, Reddit, and other social meetup points on the internet, cheaters are discussing the recent glitch penalties in GTA Online. Many lament that they lost all their game progress.
They question Rockstar’s decision for the punishment. Some assumed that repeated use of the glitches would only result in a money wipe. That is, players’ money in their accounts and their cash in the game would be wiped and set to zero. But the developers took a tougher stance and removed all progress players achieved online.
On Twitter, @_Pinulo writes that his friend played GTA Online for almost 5 years and his account was reset due to a “stupid money glitch that everyone used in the game.” He is now really angry because he had already bought all businesses from DLCs before the glitch and only bought “damn cars.”
Player Disloaders also expresses that he is hard hit. He writes that he only exploited “a small apartment glitch, which everyone else did too.” He is being punished while his friends are getting away with it.
Player Draco expresses through a meme that he finds it unfair how Rockstar acted. “Me, after using the money glitch in GTA Online, just for Rockstar to reset my account the next day:” (Warning, loud)
Player kym asks on Twitter if other people will stop playing now that their account has been reset. He then claims that GTA Online has only offered heists in 7 years.
There are also players who are just waiting for their account to be reset and are practically challenging Rockstar Games. Ed94__ writes on Twitter: “No GTA reset here, Rockstar Games, you’ll have to find me.”
Has Rockstar done this before? Yes, in the past there have been account resets, money wipes, or bans from Rockstar Games that were issued against glitch users.

This kind of in-game punishment must always be kept in mind when using such glitches in online mode. One day you could log in and then everything you earned in hundreds of hours of online gaming in Los Santos could be gone.
