An official map from Rockstar Games for GTA 6 is not available yet. However, fans are actively discussing map designs like this one. All major locations on one map together. Would that be cool or way too much?
What kind of map are we talking about? Players of GTA Online and fans of the Grand Theft Auto series are eagerly waiting for Rockstar to unveil the first glimpses of GTA 6. Meanwhile, several concepts are already forming in the players’ minds regarding the playable map of GTA 6.
Two concepts are repeatedly discussed:
- Will Rockstar Games combine well-known locations from older parts of the series to create a massive map for GTA 6?
- Or will the map of GTA 6 be a “totally new” location or a new, fictional land that we haven’t seen before in the series?
A map that combines many well-known locations from Vice City to Los Santos has recently been hotly debated.
Vice City AND Los Santos on one map? Fan map for GTA 6
This is the map: On reddit, user megahurst shared this image of the map. This concept has been circulating on the internet for a while. You can see:
- Liberty City in the northeast
- Vice City in the southeast
- Las Venturas in the south
- Los Santos in the southwest
- San Fierro in the northwest
This post was well received on reddit. Over 7,000 upvotes and more than 600 comments show that the concept is popular and invites discussion.

What do we know about the map? In the past, many supposed insider reports have surfaced, with claims about the development of GTA 6. Several anonymous sources suggest that the new installment of the GTA series returns to Vice City. Whether this means a single large map surrounding Vice City or if Vice City is just one of many locations is unclear.
Is such a map “too much”?
Why too much? When reddit user megahurst shared this image of the map on reddit, he commented, “Imagine how deliveries with the garbage truck are.” He references a mission in GTA Online where you have to deliver goods to various spots on the map using a slow garbage truck. It’s a rather tedious mission, as the garbage truck is slow and you have to struggle up some hills.
A large map as proposed in the reddit post could make these delivery missions even more tedious if they span the entire map.
Thus, the comments raise the question of whether such a concept with multiple large locations might be too much. People are already discussing problems and benefits on reddit:
- Planes and boats would become more useful
- Cars would need to go faster than 130 MPH – Many players would like that
- You already drive 5 minutes from one end of the map to the other in GTA 5 – on this map, it would take an hour
- “Just think about the loading times for this map”
A similar concept that combined the 5 well-known locations on one map was already a hot topic in March 2020. The map has a slightly different layout, and players said about the GTA 6 map design “the best concept I’ve ever seen”.
What do you think about it? We would love to hear from you what kind of map you wish for in GTA 6.
- A map like the one shown here, uniting Vice City, Los Santos, San Fierro, Liberty City, and Las Venturas?
- A completely new map with locations you haven’t seen before?
- A mix of both – old locations and new locations combined on one map?
