There is hardly a game that is currently awaited as eagerly as GTA 6. Since the first trailer in December 2023, fans have been waiting for new information about the open-world game. Absurd theories have emerged about when a new trailer will follow. A new post from Rockstar disappointed the theorists.
What is the current status? On December 5, 2023, the first trailer for GTA 6 was released. It revealed quite a bit. Possible protagonists and the setting were in the foreground. Since then, however, it has been relatively quiet about the game. Official information or new trailers were sought in vain for a year.
Of course, some fans have spun their own theories about when the latest trailer will be released. One of the biggest theories revolved around the number 27, which supposedly can be recognized everywhere in Rockstar’s posts.
The fans thought: It has to be, the new trailer for GTA 6 must be released on December 27, 2024. Rockstar even posted something on that day, but it disappointed the theorists.
Rockstar posts the wrong thing on the right day
What did Rockstar post? In fact, Rockstar published a new post on their X account on December 27, 2024. But unfortunately, it was the wrong post. In the promotional post, Rockstar only reminded that players can currently save on games like Red Dead Redemption or GTA 5 in the Rockstar Store.
The post in question received over 7 million views, and the comments are filled with disappointed fans and people mocking the absurd theories.

On the same day, the GTA-6 subreddit announced the Lockdown Mode
. Apparently, there were too many posts due to the sale reminder, which forced the mods to unlock individual threads and comments. All posts regarding the non-announcement were apparently not unlocked.
Theories are everywhere, not just in games. However, through the immense hype of GTA 6, it takes on absurd and bizarre dimensions. The longer fans have to wait, the more desperate the many theories seem to become.
