Where does the leak come from? A user named “JackOLantern1982” shared all this information on Reddit. He claims to have contacts with people from two major US media outlets who shared this information. Moreover, a friend from Rockstar did not deny these details.
The leak includes various details about GTA 6. For example, it talks about two locations where you can play. Additionally, GTA 6 is said to revolve around the drug war of the 1970s and 1980s.

Where is GTA 6 set? The leak confirms another leak from March 2018. It stated that GTA 6 will be set in Vice City.
The Reddit user confirms this but also adds that another city is supposed to be central. So you will likely be able to experience a completely new city that is said to resemble Rio de Janeiro.
Furthermore, missions are also expected to take you to Liberty City. However, this will not be playable as an open world but only for specific missions.
What has been said about the characters: You will supposedly play as the drug smuggler Ricardo, who gradually rises in the drug empire and becomes more powerful.
Additionally, you will complete missions for Martin Madrazo, whom you already know from GTA 5.
The character is supposed to carry the weapons you fight with on his body. So you likely won’t be able to run around with a huge arsenal of weapons anymore. This seems to have taken some inspiration from Red Dead Redemption 2.
This is also reminiscent of the system with the personal car that has been leaked. You are expected to be able to store all your weapons in your car and access them from there at any time.
Where the inspiration came from: According to the leak, the Netflix series “Narcos” was a significant source of inspiration for GTA 6. It deals with the drug war in South America.
