This is how to defend against annoying players in GTA 5 Online. This player outsmarted the trolls and made them pay for their “fun.”
The online mode of GTA 5 offers various ways to keep busy. On the large map, you can race, rob stores, complete missions for clients, and shoot each other in different game modes.
In a public session, PvP is enabled. This makes it possible to attack other players or destroy their vehicles. When Aaron Reynolds saw a group of players destroying the beautiful vehicles of other gamers, an idea came to his mind on how he can get back at these destructive trolls.
An expensive pleasure
Aaron Reynolds reports on Twitter that he launched Operation: “One Million Dollar Car,” which was a complete success as an action against trolls. He describes his story as follows:
Anyone who finds a nice car in GTA 5 Online can take it to a workshop and sell it there or make it their own vehicle. Reynolds quickly noticed that some players enjoyed waiting at these workshops, damaging or destroying the cars there. He thought about how to make these actions fun for him but bad for the trolls. Thus, Operation: “One Million Dollar Car” was born.
If you own a car in GTA 5 Online, you can get it insured. If another player destroys the insured vehicle, they must pay a portion of its total value. With this knowledge in mind, Reynolds modified a car with so many exaggerated changes that it was ultimately worth over 1,000,000 GTA$. He calls it: The Gurntmobile.
With the Gurntmobile, he searched for players hanging out at workshops. When he found some, he slowly drove to the workshop and let the players damage his car. When the car’s insurance was activated and the players had to pay, Reynolds heard a lot of whining in the chat. Until the One Million Dollar Car operation, Reynolds found voice chat annoying – Now he loves it!
Later, he saw a player driving a tank through the online world of GTA 5, destroying other players’ vehicles. With his Gurntmobile, he drove up to the tank, which, of course, shot directly at the vehicle. After the player in the tank destroyed the Gurntmobile for the fourth time, he shouted “NO, NOT YOU AGAIN” into his headset.
Two players in fighter jets warned each other, “Watch out not to hit the blue car. That’s worth a million dollars.” Immediately, Reynolds drove quickly to a workshop and painted the car red.
It should be mentioned at this point that players do not have to pay the full price for destroying other cars they must, when destroying them. The fee is about 1% of the car’s price. For current luxury cars, that amounts to about 20,000 GTA$ that must be paid. A price that prevents some players from destroying these cars.

Day 2 – More tuning!
In his next session, Reynolds changed his tactics. As soon as the other players recognize his car, the game is over. For this reason, he souped up a new car that is even more noticeable and will be a popular target for destructive trolls. The Gurntmobile 2!
When the trolls noticed that destroying his car costs a lot of money, he switched cars to confuse them. The whining he heard over his headset was immense. “GUYS, HE HAS TWO CARS, DON’T SHOOT AT ANY OF THEM!”
Rolling back the trolls was fun for Reynolds and satisfying. When he later drove to his in-game house, he saw that his garage entrance was blocked with foreign cars. A few angry players were waiting there for him. Their plan was not well thought out, though. They wanted to blow up his car because they were annoyed that it cost them money when they blew up his car.
Presumably, the trolls noticed their logical error and decided to take a more peaceful approach. When Reynolds arrived, they were all sitting in the house’s pool.
