The lives of various NPCs in GTA 5 can now be followed live via a stream.
The NPCs in GTA 5 have their own minds and often make questionable decisions. While driving on a highway, it can happen that a computer-controlled car suddenly rushes into oncoming traffic for no reason. But how do the NPCs actually live when there is no “real player” nearby watching them? Do they put their feet up and relax from online life, or do they perhaps behave even weirder than we know?
The sad life of five NPCs
In a Twitch stream, Brent Watanabe demonstrates how the lives of five civilians unfold in a modified version of GTA 5. The San Andreas Community Cam alternately shows five different characters and their “sad” lives. But why is their life so sad?
In the stream, you can constantly hear the NPCs crying and sobbing. It doesn’t matter which of the various characters is currently in focus. All are sad and express that (sometimes very loudly!). The stream started on the day of Donald Trump’s inauguration, which might be a reason for the emotions. The civilians play “themselves” and can control themselves. They make their own decisions and have no script dictating their actions. Currently, they often run into stores and cry in front of other NPCs or stand by the roadside, stopping overly cautious drivers.
Last year, Watanabe had an extraordinary stream idea where he showed a deer making its own decisions in the game. The deer caused traffic jams on the streets and observed gang shootouts. Whether the civilians experience similar adventures, you will find out in the stream.
