On Sunday, October 12, 2025, Twitch streamer Erik “Gronkh” Range planned to stream normally, but shortly before he canceled the stream. The reason: Some posts that were posted in his own Reddit.
Why is there hate for Gronkh? In recent days, the mood in the subreddit around Twitch streamer Gronkh has turned negative. More and more posts appeared in r/Gronkh that essentially contained three points:
- The community criticized how Gronkh was dealing with the YouTube fan channel Mjoll. The channel repeatedly posted edited best-of videos from Gronkh’s Let’s Plays over the past 2 years. The channel operator wanted to monetize the YouTube channel, but Gronkh’s management did not allow it. This is how the channel operator describes it in a post on YouTube.
The consequence: Since it seems to be a busy student behind the channel, she had to stop her work if it was no longer financially viable for her. - Furthermore, a part of the community seemed dissatisfied that Gronkh would suddenly play Battlefield 6, even though he had previously spoken out against “war games”.
- Lastly, some pointed out that Gronkh would have a lot of placements in his Twitch stream.
The way criticism was expressed, in Gronkh’s eyes, was not formulated in a factual manner; he would accept that, but it went in a hate-posting direction. According to him, things were no longer criticized but commented on with hatred.
For example, a user wrote among other things on Reddit: “For several weeks, the streams seem to me like the absolute sellout. From placement to placement, in games that Gronkh would never touch on his own.” It should be noted that the user subsequently apologized for this post and understood and accepted Gronkh’s perspective, which he himself commented on Reddit below.
All of this seemed to affect Gronkh so much that he even canceled a stream.
“As usual, the loud minority”
Why does Gronkh cancel his stream? After over 10 years on Twitch (Source: SullyGnome), Gronkh still seems to be affected by such threads. Because it led to the Twitch streamer canceling his planned stream on Sunday, October 12, 2025, shortly before.
In addition, he wrote among other things the following on Reddit: “Probably it was the amount and sometimes also the groundlessness that affected me more yesterday than I may admit. And actually, I have a relatively thick skin. No idea why it still gets to me after all these years. Maybe because I still care, no matter how much some people may see or even hope for that.”
Regarding the hate posts on Reddit, he additionally wrote a separate post in which he stated:
Sorry, criticism acknowledged – but I personally delete any hate threads from alt accounts. I know, people want to catch a bit of mood at the moment because I played a shooter, at the same time with the Mjoll story – but maybe we can keep that within limits without being insulting or making groundless claims. Thank you very much.

Fans support Gronkh: The larger part of the community still seems to be behind Gronkh. Many well-wishes and understanding for the situation can be found on Reddit.
- The user EvaCuate2025 finds the hate exaggerated (Source: Reddit): “(…) I’m also amazed at how much fuss is made about this childish stuff (placements, legal decisions). All experts when it comes to the decisions of others…”
- BlaM4c states on Reddit: “As usual, it will be the loud minority. Don’t let them ruin your fun – and get healthy first! There are more important things than getting upset about trolls.”
Even in other situations where Gronkh was criticized, he did not always back down. For example, the title of one of his YouTube videos was criticized, but he shot back.
