The TV series “Grimm,” which airs on Vox, is getting its own MMO called “Grimm: Dark Legacy.”
The series “Grimm” is based on the idea that Grimm’s fairy tales are based on true facts. There are beastly creatures living among us in human form, discovered and hunted by a “Grimm.” There are flesh-eating Blutbaden (wolves), anxious bauernschweine, clever fuchsteufel, and nasty hexenbiester.
The TV series has been airing since 2011 in the USA: a police officer, a Grimm, investigates alongside a vegan Blutbaden and a whole host of helpers. It’s relatively light fantasy/crime fare.
Little is known at the moment about the MMO that is supposed to come out related to the series. It is being developed by the Norwegian studio Artplant, which is also behind Battlestar Galactica Online. The game is set to be released for PC in mid-2016. Here you can sign up for a beta.
Grimm: Dark Legacy is set in a world hundreds of years ago. Players are expected to use all the abilities of the Grimms and their weapons to survive. The game will be free-to-play. Combat is expected to be an important part of the game. Missions need to be completed, and rewards reaped. Behind the description, MMO players know that anything could be lurking.
