Google will release new information about Stadia in an announcement. A leak has already revealed some information in advance about the release date, the price, and some of the launch games.
Update: The first “Stadia Connect” stream has already aired, and we have compiled all the information for you.
Original report: When is the announcement? Google plans to present more information about their new streaming project Stadia today, June 6, 2019. The stream will start at 6 PM, and we will follow it live to gather the most important information for you.
However, a leak has already revealed some details. We at MeinMMO have also considered what can already be estimated.
For those who want to follow the stream live, we have embedded it here. More information can also be found on the official Stadia website.
Google Stadia: When is the release, what are the costs?
This is what we know about the release: During the official presentation of Stadia in March 2019, only 2019 was mentioned as the release date. A more specific date was not provided.
According to a leak from the Canadian website LaPresse.c, Stadia is supposed to launch in November 2019 in 14 unspecified countries.
This is what we know about the price: A price has also not been mentioned yet. LaPresse.ca talks about $11.99 (we estimate around €9.99) per month for a service with a resolution of 4K at 60 FPS.
There is also supposed to be a free version starting in 2020 that only allows streaming up to 1080p.
There are already some offers that operate in a similar manner and function. In comparison, these include:
- PlayStation Now, which grants access to over 600 titles for €14.99 per month or €99.99 annually
- The Xbox Game Pass, which is now also available for PC, with over 100 games for €9.99 per month or “Ultimate” for €12.99
- Netflix, which Stadia is partly compared to in terms of its function, costing between €7.99 and €10.99 per month
Additionally, Sony and Microsoft offer subscriptions with PS Plus and Xbox Live Gold, with which some games are also playable for a limited time. If Google adopts such a model as an addition, comparable prices would be:
- For Xbox Live Gold between €4.99 and €6.99 per month, depending on the size of the subscription
- For PS Plus between €5 and €7.99 per month, depending on the size of the subscription
Sony and Microsoft are currently also working on their own cloud service, which seems to compete against Google Stadia. The battle for the lowest price could therefore put some pressure on everything.

These games are available for Google Stadia
This is confirmed: Currently, only two games are certain to be coming. During the presentation of Stadia, Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey was shown as an example of how Stadia works. So it’s included.
Additionally, Doom Eternal is also supposed to be included in Stadia, the new Doom shooter from Bethesda.
These are probably coming later: There are currently two more games that are being rumored about. The renowned game journalist Jason Schreier has learned from multiple sources that Destiny 2 will also come to Google Stadia.
Additionally, there are rumors and leaks that Baldur’s Gate 3 is supposed to come to Stadia, although not exclusively. Larian Studios recently released a small teaser with just a number, leading fans to speculate about a continuation of the popular series.
According to the leak from LaPresse, three editions of Tomb Raider and The Division 2 are also supposed to be available on Stadia. Stadia is said to launch with a total of 31 games.
We will learn more about the games today starting at 6 PM or at the latest during E3 2019, where many developers and publishers will also present their games:
